The Project

Safe bridges for migrant workers: pilot initiatives in Moldova and UKraine is a project co-funded by the European Commission through AENEAS programme. AENEAS Programme is the cooperation programme of European Commission aiming at providing specific and complementary financial and technical assistance to third countries in support of their efforts to ensure more effective management of all aspects of migration flows.

In this context, Safe bridges for migrant workers has the aim of contributing to develop a legal migration channel among Italy, Ukraine and Moldova, preventing the consequences of the illegal trafficking and creating an innovating system of pre-emptive information and guidance addressed to potential migrants with the active involvement and support of local trade unions.

This project was conceived with the intention of favouring the meeting with the labour demand of Italian companies, without depriving the Countries of origin of their own labour force and skills; on the contrary this project will improve the procedures on “migration flows” and develop abilities that can strengthen the country of origin by favouring the circular migration. 

Starting from these aims, the project will train 60 local operators working in 30 information helpdesks (20 Infopoints in Ukraine and 10 in Moldova), realized specifically with the exact target of testing planned migration flows.
